Speakers

Rhylin Bailie, F.CIRI, Vice President, Investor Relations, Equinox Gold Corp.  
Rhylin has been the VP Investor Relations of Equinox Gold since October 2016, bringing 27 years of mining industry experience and more than 16 years of investor relations experience to her role. From 2011 to October 2016, Rhylin managed all aspects of investor relations and communications for a number of resource companies. Previously Rhylin was Director of Investor Relations for NovaGold Resources from 2006 to 2011 where she managed both the investor relations program and sustainability reporting.

Prior to that she held various positions in the Treasury group at Placer Dome from 1995 to 2006. Rhylin is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree and was a director on the national board of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute from 2014-2022. In 2023 Rhylin was awarded the CIRI Fellowship designation, which recognizes investor relations leaders who bring distinction to the profession and serve as a role model for others.

Stefan Parker, Manager, Sustainability, Eldorado Gold Corporation
Stefan works with diverse teams to develop and implement sustainability-related systems, governance and risk management processes to drive good practices for responsible mining in Canada and Europe. At Eldorado, Stefan’s work has included the development of a greenhouse gas mitigation target and climate change strategy, collaboration with site teams to develop industry-leading tailings management systems, and the evolution of sustainability-related disclosures that support Eldorado’s consistent ranking as a top quartile ESG performer in the mining industry. Prior to Eldorado, Stefan held roles of increasing responsibility with crown corporations and produced award-winning academic work. In 2019, he was the recipient of the Boyer Prize from the Australian Institute of International Affairs for his research in international environmental politics. Stefan holds a BA (Hons, First Class) in Political Science from the University of Calgary, and an MA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.

Hamir Patel, Executive Director, Equity Research, CIBC Capital Markets
Hamir is CIBC Capital Markets’ Forestry, Building Products & Packaging analyst. He has ranked highly in the major polls and surveys of Canadian Forest Products analysts, including receiving a “Top Gun” designation in the Brendan Wood surveys in each of the last six years. Hamir was also recognized by Thomson Reuters’ StarMine survey as a “top stock picker” for Canadian forestry stocks for the past three surveys (2018-2020).

Prior to joining CIBC in 2015, Hamir was a Vice-President in equity research at a competitor firm, working on a team that consistently ranked highly in surveys of institutional investors. Previously, he worked in investment banking and equity research at other Canadian securities firms. Hamirgraduated from McGill University with a B.A. (Honours) and received his Master of Finance (MFin) from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Nicholas Van Dyk, Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Secretary, NorthIsle Copper and Gold Inc.
Nicholas is a public company executive with nearly 20 years of experience in corporate development, finance, and investor relations with a focus on the mining industry. Nicholas has advised a range of public and private companies on strategic corporate matters, including internal and external growth projects as well as M&A transactions, equity, and debt financings totalling more than $35 billion.

Previously, Nicholas was the Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Development at Polaris Materials Corporation prior to its acquisition by a major US construction materials company in 2017. As a member of the executive leadership team at Polaris, he led the successful investor relations function and created significant value for shareholders as a key contributor to corporate strategy, business development, finance, community relations and other matters. Nicholas joined NorthIsle in November 2020 as its Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations and became Chief Financial Officer in 2021.
