Investor expectations for improved ESG performance and reporting continue to grow. Hear from a panel of industry professionals on how they are responding to these expectations.

Patrick Evans, CEO of Mayfair Gold, will share his company’s journey to becoming Canada’s first carbon-neutral gold project, Raymond James analyst David Quezada will discuss the perspective of investors and the sell side, while ESG specialist Michelle Tanguay will address how companies tackle the ever-growing demands from the ESG-focused investment community. This event is eligible for 2 CEUs.

Speakers

Patrick Evans, CEO, Mayfair Gold
Patrick Evans is a senior mining executive with more than 24 years’ experience in multiple commodities, operating on five continents. He has managed successful exploration and development projects, as well as operating mines. He is a recipient of the PDAC’s Viola R MacMillan Award for leadership in management and financing for mineral exploration and development of mineral resources, and the AME’s Hugo Dummett Award for excellence in diamond exploration and development. He has held management positions with numerous companies and is currently Chairman of Arctic Blue Diamonds, Pan Global Resources Inc., and Mirasol Resources Ltd. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cape Town.


David Quezada, Director Equity Research, Power and Energy, Raymond James
David Quezada is a director at Raymond James with 15 years’ equity research experience working in the power, utilities, and forestry sectors. He joined Raymond James in 2009 as a research associate covering the forest products sector and was promoted to a research analyst position covering the power and utilities sector in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, he spent time working at Vancouver based investment manager Connor, Clark, & Lunn as well as at HSBC in commercial banking. David holds the CFA® designation as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University.

Michelle Tanguay, ESG Specialist and Consultant
Michelle Tanguay has over twenty-five years of experience working within the resource extraction industry. Her experiences cover a wide range of activities associated with the life-cycle of mining, from: Indigenous and stakeholder engagement; baseline data design and collection; overseeing and leading assessment/permitting processes across Canada; negotiation of agreements with Indigenous governments and organizations; and environmental management throughout the mining life-cycle. Michelle has held management positions with Newmont, Argonaut Gold, GT Gold and Ethos Gold, and is currently the Head of Sustainability and Community Relations at Northisle Copper and Gold.
