Speakers

Jillian Bannister, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Ext. Marketing Inc.

As CEO and Co-founder of Ext. Marketing, Jillian is responsible for the company’s culture, vision, revenue and operations. At the highest level, Jillian leads and develops Ext.Marketing’s short and long-term strategy. Drilling down, she is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the company, including sales, staffing, budgets, employee engagement and corporate citizenship. Jillian was Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter and has held senior marketing and sales roles at an early-stage fintech company and Franklin Templeton Investments. Jillian has an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario as well as a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics.



Camilla Bartosiewicz, Chief Communications Office, Altus Group

With a specialty in investor relations, in 2022 Camilla assumed the role of Chief Communications Officer at Altus Group tasked with harmonizing the company’s internal and external stakeholder communications. Throughout her +15-year career she has led award-winning investor relations programs, launched ESG communications, and supported Management teams and Boards in navigating unique communications situations during periods of transition, transformation, crisis, restructurings and acquisitions. Her track record demonstrates that effective two-way communications strategies translate to improved stakeholder relationships, valuation, employee engagement, and brand reputation. Prior to joining Altus Group in 2014, she headed up investor relations for a dual-listed company in the resource sector, and earlier in her career she worked at boutique consultancies supporting clients on strategic investor relations programs and special situation communications, including mergers and acquisitions. Camilla holds a B.A. Hons in Media Studies from the University of Guelph and a Diploma in Public Relations from Humber College.



Richard Heft, President and Co-founder, Ext. Marketing Inc.

As President and Co-founder of Ext. Marketing, Richard is responsible for the company’s business development and communications teams. Richard’s days are spent building ext. into a global leader in financial services marketing, as well as creating content that will get our clients’ messages in front of the right people – meaning everyone. Prior to ext., Richard ran a communications firm catering exclusively to the financials space, as well as occupying various marketing roles at some of the world’s largest financial services firms, including Dynamic Mutual Funds, TD Asset Management, Franklin Templeton Investments and John Hancock. When not in the office, Richard spends as much time as possible watching CNN to ensure he knows exactly what’s going on. The rest of the ext. team implores you to never talk politics or religion with this guy.



Emily Lau, Investor Relations Manager, Enthusiast Gaming

Emily is an accomplished investor relations professional with nearly 20 years of experience in the shipping industry, as well as recent experience in the media sector. Her journey with Enthusiast Gaming commenced in 2022, where she is responsible for investor relations of the company. Prior to this, Emily held the position of Head of Investor Relations at Pacific Basin Shipping Limited, a Hong Kong-based company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, for an impressive 16 years. During her tenure, she and her team were recognized with multiple awards in the fields of investor relations and corporate governance by the investment community. In addition to her extensive experience, Emily also contributed her expertise to MBC as an Investor Relations Consultant and joined the IT Risk team of Mackenzie Investment during 2021-2022. Emily’s academic qualifications include a Master of Financial Accountability from York University, a Master of Applied Accounting and Finance from the Hong Kong Baptist University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and History from the University of Hong Kong. Emily is now based in Toronto, Canada.



Chris Makuch, Senior Director, Sales, Notified (Moderator)

Chris is Notified’s Senior Director in Canada. A veteran executive with over 20 years of experience in corporate governance, shareholder identification, and shareholder engagement strategies, he started his career in proxy solicitation.

He has advised management teams, boards of directors and activist investors on M & A and proxy battle strategies while working on some of the biggest transactions in Canadian history. His focus is on helping public companies understand both their institutional and retail shareholder bases to ensure that they maximize their engagement strategies and drive shareholder value. Chris is a past member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) Ontario Chapter Board of Directors and a past member of the CIRI Issues Committee. He co-authored Unlocking Value at Canadian Pacific: The Proxy Battle with Pershing Square (Ivey Publishing 2017) and has been a frequent speaker and contributor on corporate governance, shareholder engagement, and proxy process voting issues.

He holds a BA from King’s University College at The University of Western Ontario and an MBA (Financial Services) from Dalhousie University.
