Speakers

Dave Hughes, Vice President, Investor Relations, Imperial Oil

Dave was appointed to Vice President, Investor Relations at Imperial Oil in 2017. Dave joined Imperial Oil in 1989 as a systems analyst in Toronto, where he supported refinery capital projects. He has since held a range of technical, supervisory and management positions within the company’s upstream, downstream and corporate groups. His depth and breadth of knowledge extends to refining, supply and transportation logistics, business analysis and reporting, upstream project management and commercial pipeline work.

Dave's career includes an international assignment with ExxonMobil, where he spent five years in various downstream roles in Fairfax, Virginia and Houston, Texas. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA degree from Queen’s University.

Nathalie Megann, CPIR, President & CEO, CIRI (Moderator)

Nathalie is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of professional experience, most recently as Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs at Chorus Aviation Inc., a publicly traded aviation holding company, where she led the investor relations, corporate communications and public and government affairs functions. Nathalie has been a member of CIRI since 2004 and joined the CIRI Board of Directors in 2016 where she played an integral role as Chair of the Human Resources and Corporate Governance Committee during her initial tenure. She then held the role of CIRI Board Chair from 2020 to 2022 and played an instrumental role in successfully navigating CIRI through the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while furthering CIRI’s strategic pursuits.

In 2023, she assumed the role of Past Chair of the CIRI Board, and most recently served as interim President and CEO following the departure of Yvette Lokker. Ms. Megann holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with an Advanced Major in Political Science and a Diploma in Public Administration, both from Dalhousie University. She is also a Certified Professional in Investor Relations (CPIR) and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors Director (ICD.D) designation.

Nona Murray, Contributor Relations, Director - US, Visible Alpha

Nona is a financial technology professional with 20+ years of experience in business development. She is one of the initial members at Visible Alpha joining the firm at an early start, as the 4th employee based in New York. Nona and her team are responsible for covering Visible Alpha’s sell side & research partners across The America’s. She’s held a few roles within the firm, mostly notably acquiring new content partnerships, to overhauling Visible Alpha’s entitlement operations, to most recently, account management for some of the firms largest sell side partners.

Nona and her team work on ensuring contributors are taking advantage of Visible Alpha partnership programs. Nona started her career on the equity trading floor with Citigroup and HSBC. Prior to joining Visible Alpha, spent the better half of her career working in FinTech across both start ups as well as large organizations like S&P Global and Broadridge.

Anne Plasterer, CPIR, Partner, Clear Path Strategies

Anne has over two decades of experience providing comprehensive investor relations strategies for companies across a wide range of industries. Current clients include SECURE Energy and AutoCanada Inc. Prior to working as a consultant, she was Executive Director, Investor Relations at Newalta Corporation where she built the investor relations program from scratch, and was formerly with BFI Canada (now Waste Connections) where she oversaw investor and employee relations. Under her direction, BFI Canada was recognized with IR Magazine's Best Investment Community Meetings Award.

Earlier in her career, Anne provided IR consulting services to multiple clients for a Toronto-based IR firm and was part of the Investor Relations team at HSBC Investment Bank in London, UK. Anne holds a Certified Professional in Investor Relations (CPIR) designation, a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has completed the Canadian Securities Course. She has been a member of CIRI since 2000, served on both the CIRI National and CIRI Alberta boards, and was Chair of the CIRI Alberta Chapter from 2011 to 2013.
