Speakers

Jennifer Coulson, Senior Managing Director ESG, BCI
Jennifer Coulson has worked in the financial services industry for 17 years. She began her career in the mutual fund business working for a national firm that specializes in responsible investing solutions. As a senior member of the Public Markets Department at BCI she now oversees Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risk analysis for portfolio companies; engages with companies to manage ESG risk; develops public policy submissions on ESG matters of broad relevance to the investment industry; and oversees the proxy voting program. Jennifer has an undergraduate degree in Environment & Resource Management from the University of Western Ontario as well as a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University. She has attained the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D); serves on the PIAC Investor Stewardship Committee; the 30% Club of Canada Steering Committee; and the Investment Advisory Committee for the University of Victoria Student Investment Fund.

Lara Donaldson, Chief Operations Officer, TSX Trust  
As Chief Operations Officer at TSX Trust, Lara has overall responsibility for the Canadian operational, business and relationship matters for the Transfer Agency business. Lara is the President of the Securities Transfer Association of Canada (STAC), is past Chair of the STAC Legal and Regulatory Working Group, and is also on the board of the Securities Transfer Association (STA) in the United States. She is often called upon to speak at industry events on topics including Transfer Agent Proxy Processes and Proxy Reform, and Regulatory Amendments. Lara is a member of the Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC), the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI), the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), and the Women’s Executive Network (WXN). She is also an affiliate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and successfully completed the ICSA Canada Directors’ Education and Accreditation Program (DEAP) in June, 2017. She began her career in the transfer agency industry more than 24 years ago, and has progressed through various roles, most recently holding the title of Director, Regulatory and Industry Affairs at Computershare Canada.

Oren Lida, Lead Analyst, Israel & North America, Glass Lewis & Co.
Oren Lida joined Glass Lewis in 2016 as an analyst on the Israel and North America (U.S. and Canada) governance teams. As Lead Analyst for Canada and Israel (including U.S.-listed Israeli companies) he oversees governance and executive compensation research and engages with clients, issuers and other stakeholders across both markets. Oren holds a bachelor's degree in History from King's College London and is fluent in English, Hebrew and German.

John Vizikas, Vice President, Head of Canada Research, ISS Governance
John joined ISS in 2014 and has over 12 years of experience in corporate governance and ESG research. He is responsible for providing corporate governance and proxy research on some of Canada's largest companies and is involved in ISS' policy development and formulation process. John also specializes in contested M&A situations and proxy contests. Prior to joining ISS, he worked as a senior research analyst at GMI Ratings, a corporate governance and ESG ratings and research provider, where he led a group of international research analysts. John holds a Master of Business Administration (Financial Management) and a Master of Science (Investment Management) from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.
