Isabelle Adjahi
Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, WSP Global Inc.

Isabelle Adjahi, Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, joined WSP Global Inc. (previously GENIVAR Inc.) as Director, Communications and Investor Relations in 2011. Prior to that, she held a similar position in a pharmaceutical company for 13 years. In such a position, Isabelle has developed investor relations and corporate communication programs that have increased WSP’s shareholder base, with a particular focus on increasing institutional ownership across Canada. Isabelle has worked extensively in both the Canadian and American markets with experience across various fields including equity and debt financing, takeover bids, mergers and acquisitions, debt holder relations, product acquisition or in-licensing as well as overall communication with current and potential investors, analysts, media, employees and other stakeholders. Before joining Axcan, Ms. Adjahi worked in corporate finance in Montreal for Midland Walwyn Capital Inc. (now Merrill Lynch) and in France, for one of the largest bank. She holds a Masters in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Lyon (France). Isabelle is past president of CIRI Quebec. She is a 2016 winner of IR Magazine Awards for “Best IRO (mid-cap)” and “Best IR during a corporate transaction”; a 2013 winner for “Best Overall IR” and “Best IR by a CEO (small cap)” and a 2007 winner for “Best IRO (small cap)” and “Best Overall IR”. She has also been a finalist in various other categories over the years.

Arash Adnani
President & General Manager, Blender Media

Arash Adnani is Blender’s president and co-founder with over 12 years experience working in digital IR. He was chosen as one of Business in Vancouver’s 2014 ‘Forty Under 40’ and is a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization.

Lisa Azzuolo
Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Genworth MI Canada

Lisa Azzuolo is Vice President, Marketing and Communications with Genworth Canada, the largest private sector provider of residential mortgage default insurance in Canada. Lisa’s professional experience spans more than 20 years, with a focus on professional services marketing and communications. In her current role she is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated marketing and communications strategy that meets corporate, government, investor and employee relations objectives. Prior to joining Genworth Canada, she led marketing and communications for some of Canada’s largest law firms. Lisa is a dedicated and compassionate leader who believes in empowering team members to build on their strengths, try new ideas, expand their horizons and have fun in the process. Before branching into marketing and communications, she practiced criminal and immigration law in the province of Quebec. She holds a bachelor of law degree from University of Montreal. Lisa serves as a Director on the Board of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the judging panel for the Oakville Awards for Business Excellence.

Bill Bamber

Head, Wealth Solutions Group, CIBC Capital Markets

Bill Bamber is head of the Wealth Solutions Group within Capital Markets at CIBC and has over 20 years of international capital markets experience, principally in derivatives. Much of his focus has been structuring new products in order to address investor situations. Among the more notable of these was the creation of the world’s first Emerging Market ETF, the SATRIX 40 while based in South Africa. Prior to re-joining CIBC in 2009 he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. in New York where he led Equity Derivatives structuring in the Americas. While at Bear he was intensely focused on innovative structures that accessed new markets and asset classes. These include allowing investors to short housing-linked equities while protecting capital, efficient access to U.S. energy MLPs and ground-breaking algorithmic strategies. He also worked extensively with institutional clients throughout the U.S. and Latin America in structuring risk-reducing strategies across multiple asset classes.

Michael Becker
Executive Vice President, International Business Strategy, Business Wire 

Michael Becker was named Executive Vice President, International Business Strategy in December 2015. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President, Financial Product Strategy. Michael oversees Business Wire's global disclosure services, partnerships within the broader financial community, and is responsible for identifying revenue-generating opportunities for Business Wire. He also possesses overall responsibility for Business Wire's Canadian and Hong Kong operations. Under Becker's guidance, Business Wire today offers a comprehensive suite of services for the investor relations community, including: sophisticated investor relations sites, webcasting, corporate social responsibility and venture capital press release distributions, XBRL services, and Business Wire's in-house EDGAR Desk, consistently ranking among the top SEC filers. Becker also worked closely with Business Wire's European team, setting up more than a dozen disclosure networks throughout the European Union, keyed to the January 2007 implementation of the EU's Transparency Obligations Directive [TOD]. Becker joined Business Wire in 1999 as Financial Information Services Specialist. Prior to joining the company he worked for Capital Link, Inc., where he created and implemented comprehensive media and investor relations programs for high profile clients, including SBF-Paris Bourse and the Athens Stock Exchange.

Brian Bergot

Vice President, Investor Relations, Taseko Mines Limited

Brian Bergot was appointed Vice President, Investor Relations in March 2014 and has over 20 years of experience in the natural resources sector. Brian joined Taseko in 2006 and has held roles of increasing responsibility, in both Investor Relations and Marketing & Logistics. Prior to his career in mining, Brian spent 14 years at Methanex Corporation, a $7 billion BC-based chemical company. At Methanex, he held a number of corporate and operational roles including investor relations and marketing & logistics. As Vice President, Investor Relations, he is responsible for expanding the Company’s shareholder base in the North American and European markets.

Claude Boulos
President, Chief Operating Officer & Portfolio Manager, Selexia Investment Management Inc.

Claude Boulos is a member of the Selexia Investment Management team and is a portfolio manager for the Selexia strategies. Mr. Boulos has 29 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 1997. Prior experiences include Portfolio Manager positions at major portfolio management firms. Mr. Boulos graduated from HEC Montréal with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) majoring in Public Accounting as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Montréal. He later received the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), the Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designations. As well, Mr. Boulos has been a member of CRUF Canada (Corporate Reporting User Forum) since 2010.

Meghan Brown
Director, Investor Relations, Endeavour Silver Corp.

Meghan has over 20 years of experience in communications and investor relations in the resource sector. She joined Endeavour Silver in 2013 as Director of Investor Relations. Meghan started her career with Suncor Energy and has also worked in communications and investor relations for Transcanada, Placer Dome, Ventana Gold, and a number of publicly traded mineral exploration and development companies with assets in North and South America, Africa and Asia. Meghan is a past Director of CIRI BC (1997-2013) and served as President of the BC Board of CIRI for two years (2011-2013). She is currently Chair of the CIRI National Board of Directors, Co-chair of the HR and Governance Committee, and a member of the Audit Committee. She has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Governance Essentials Program for Directors of Not-for-Profit Organizations, and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. She holds a BA from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Queen’s University.

David Carey, F. CIRI
Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, ARC Resources

Mr. Carey is Senior Vice President, Capital Markets of ARC Resources, a Calgary based oil and gas producer.  He is responsible for all facets of ARC’s investor relations and corporate governance. Mr. Carey has over 30 years of diverse experience in the Canadian and international energy industries covering exploration, production, project evaluation, finance and investor relations in conventional assets, oilsands (both mining and in-situ) and western Canadian and international frontiers. Prior to joining ARC in 2001, Mr. Carey held dual roles of Director, Investor Relations for Gulf Canada Resources and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Athabasca Oil Sands Trust. Mr. Carey holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geological Engineering and a Master in Business Administration from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He has received an ICD.D certificate from the Institute of Corporate Directors.  Mr. Carey is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

Stephane Champagne
Vice President, Portfolio Manager, CI Signature Global Advisors

Stephane Champagne has over 20 years of investment industry experience and specializes in global consumer staples and discretionary sectors. Prior to joining Signature, Mr. Champagne was a senior equity analyst at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and was responsible for the consumer sector. Previously, he began his career as senior equity analyst at Maison Placements Canada and Laurentian Bank Securities before becoming assistant portfolio manager at Valorem Asset Management. Mr. Champagne (Platinum Class) has been ranked as a “TopGun” equity portfolio manager by Brendan Woods International each year since its debut in 2009.

Samantha Cheung
Vice President, Investor Relations, Intact Financial Corporation

Samantha has a breadth of experience in Investor Relations and across the Capital Markets. Just prior to joining Intact in June 2015 as its Head of IR, she was the Head of IR at Genworth Canada. She joined Genworth Canada at the time of its IPO in July 2009 and was instrumental in developing and leading its Investor Relations platform. Prior to Genworth, Samantha held a variety of senior roles at CIBC World Markets in the areas of Debt Origination, Derivatives and Investment Banking. She also spent time at Merrill Lynch Canada in equity research in the field of biotechnology. Samantha originally trained and practiced as a chemical engineer.  Samantha received her Master of Science in Engineering from Queen's University and her Master of Business Administration from Rotman School of Management. Outside of her professional work, Samantha is a Board Director and Treasurer of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (Ontario) and was formerly a Director on the Board of Women in Capital Markets for six years.  

Chaya Cooperberg
Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, Progressive Waste Solutions

Chaya Cooperberg is Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd.'s Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. Chaya is responsible for developing and implementing the investor relations, public relations and employee communications programs for the company. She has experience in managing IR and corporate communications programs for publicly traded companies in the U.S. and Canada. Most recently, she was the Director of Investor Relations and Communications at Alderwoods Group, the second-largest provider of funeral and cemetery services in North America. Prior to Alderwoods, Chaya was the Director, Investor Relations at Descartes Systems Group, an inter-listed Canadian software company. Chaya began her career in business journalism, working at publications such as Stockhouse.com, Investor's Digest of Canada, Canadian Business Magazine and GlobeInvestor.

Rebecca Corbin

Rebecca Corbin founded Corbin Perception Group in 2007. Over the past decade, she has provided strategic counsel to hundreds of public companies worldwide and across diverse sectors. Her areas of expertise include institutional investor research, strategy and message development, special situations, investor outreach and marketing, and IR best practices in general. Ms. Corbin has extensive C-suite and board-level consulting experience and, as a subject matter expert, has served as panelist and guest speaker at numerous industry conferences and company meetings. Jennifer Coulson
Senior Manager, ESG Integration, bcIMC

Jennifer Coulson has worked in the field of responsible investing for 14 years. Jennifer is currently Senior Manager of ESG Integration for the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, an asset manager for the BC public sector with more than $123 billion in assets under management. Her role in the Public Equities department includes assessing environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk for portfolio companies; engaging with those companies to manage ESG risk; and developing policy submissions on ESG matters of broad relevance to the investment industry; as well as voting thousands of proxies each year on behalf of clients.

Tony D'Onofrio
Director, Board Engagement, Canadian Coalition for Good Governance

Tony gained extensive advisory and capital markets expertise over a 20 year career in investment banking with a leading financial services firm in Canada. He began working with the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG) in 2010. He is responsible for leading CCGG’s board engagement efforts and he regularly meets with the directors of leading public companies to discuss governance matters on behalf of Canada’s largest institutional investors. He is also responsible for overseeing CCGG’s research efforts, which include publications on Governance Best Practices, Executive and Director Compensation practices. He has been a guest speaker on governance matters for a number of professional organizations including Lexpert, the CICA, the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries and The Directors College. Tony holds a Masters in Business Administration (Schulich School) and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Paul Davis
Co-Chair, Capital Markets and M&A, McMillan

Paul has a practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, proxy fights, corporate governance, corporate finance, business restructuring and start-ups, and a broad range of securities and business law matters for both private and public issuers. His solid experience in securities and business law was gained through his years in the private sector as a lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions; head of investment banking at a Toronto based brokerage firm; and a senior officer of public and private companies. He has also been on a secondment with the Ontario Securities Commission. Bruno Di Genova
General Manager, Client Relationship, Eastern Canada, Computershare

As the General Manager, Client Relationship for Eastern Canada, Bruno is the senior point of contact for Computershare’s issuer clients, their counsel and advisors, and is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of those relationships. He has over 20 years’ experience in client services in the financial services and securities industries. Prior to joining Computershare, Bruno worked for seven years at CDS Inc., a subsidiary of the Canadian Depository for Securities where he held several client service positions within the System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) business unit and prior to that in a management role for a major Canadian bank. Bruno holds an MBA from Université de Sherbrooke, a BBA from Université du Québec, and has completed a series of investment and securities courses at both the Canadian Securities Institute and Institute of Canadian Bankers.

Julie Desjardins
Director, Reporting and Capital Markets, CPA Canada

Julie Desjardins is responsible for development of research, guidance, and thought leadership related to reporting and capital market issues for publicly listed companies, private companies, and not for profit organizations. Issues may be related to existing reporting standards; reporting to securities regulators; sustainability and integrated reporting; and the future of reporting. Prior to February 2015, Julie was an independent consultant in the area of performance measurement and business reporting. Brian Ector
Senior Vice President, Capital Markets and Public Affairs, Baytex Energy Corp.

Mr. Ector was appointed Senior Vice President, Capital Markets and Public Affairs on May 21, 2014. He joined Baytex in November 2009 and has held the following positions: Director of Investor Relations from November 2009 to June 2011, Vice President, Investor Relations from June 2011 to May 2014. Prior to joining Baytex, Mr. Ector spent 15 years as a sell-side research analyst covering both energy trusts and exploration and production corporations. He spent the last seven years with Scotia Capital where he was consistently ranked as one of the top rated analysts in Canada. Mr. Ector received a Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in finance from the University of Calgary and received his CFA designation in 1996. He is a national board member of CIRI as well as a member of NIRI, the CFA Institute and the Calgary CFA Society.

Laurie Gaborit

Ms. Gaborit is a geologist with over 25 years of Canadian and international exploration experience. Ms. Gaborit has provided strategic investor relations and corporate communications services for the resource industry since 1998. She joined Detour Gold in late 2006 as Director Investor Relations. She has provided investor relations services for junior mining companies for a number of years and previously served as Vice-President, Investor Relations for High River Gold Mines Ltd. and Manager, Investor Relations for Rio Narcea Gold Mines Ltd. She holds a Bachelor of Science in geology (Hons.) and started her career in the mineral exploration industry for Aur Resources Inc., Cambior Inc., and Romarco Minerals Inc.

Lorne Gorber

Lorne Gorber is responsible for leading CGI’s global strategic reputation management initiatives, including serving as company spokesperson and significantly growing the company’s investment coverage. He also is a member of the CGI Executive Committee, which is responsible for the company’s global strategy and operations oversight. Lisa Greatrix
Senior Vice President, Company Performance Effectiveness & Investor Relations, Canadian Tire Corporation

Lisa Greatrix is a seasoned Finance Executive with extensive experience in managing diverse groups and initiatives in multiple disciplines including finance, customer support and operations. As Senior Vice-President of Company Performance Effectiveness and Investor Relations at Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC), Lisa and her team directly support CTC’s Board of Directors, CFO and CEO. In her role, Lisa oversees investor relations strategies and programs and also manages relationships with the investor and analyst communities. Additionally, she supports the Company-wide productivity agenda while managing corporate projects including the enterprise strategic planning cycle.
Lisa joined Canadian Tire in 2007 as Vice-President, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis. During this time, she acted as a trusted advisor to senior management, supported the creation of CT REIT and played a key role in creating a sustainable financial framework. Throughout her career at CTC, she has set strategies and inspired change that has made CTC home to some of the best practices in financial planning and analysis. Prior to joining Canadian Tire, Lisa held senior positions at MDS, Research in Motion and Xerox Canada. Lisa is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from York University. She has also completed the Queen’s Executive Program.

Christian Green
Director, Investor Relations and Compliance, RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust

Christian Green is Director Investor Relations and Compliance of RioCan REIT, Canada’s largest real estate investment trust with an enterprise value of approximately $15 billion. RioCan, headquartered in Toronto, is involved in the ownership, management, development, leasing, acquisition and redevelopment of retail properties. Currently, RioCan has an ownership interests in 305 properties totalling more than 46 million square feet. Prior to joining RioCan in June of 2009, he led Standard & Poor’s Canadian real estate ratings team covering the Canadian CMBS and REIT Sectors as well as the Canadian Servicer Rankings. Prior to this he worked in a number of progressive positions at Foresters, as part of the investment team managing a portfolio of REIT and CMBS investments. Christian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Steve Green
Senior Mining Analyst, TD Securities

Steve is a senior mining analyst at TD Securities Inc. focusing on gold and precious metals producers. Steve has been with TD Securities Inc. since 2003 and prior to that worked at an independent Canadian dealer covering the Base Metals and Precious Metals sectors.  In 2012, he was ranked as the #1 Precious Metals (Small/Mid-Cap) Analyst in Canada and remains a top-three ranked analyst in that sector. Prior to entering the securities business, Steve spent three years as a Geological Engineer with Fugro Airborne Surveys, conducting airborne geophysical surveys for various mining companies throughout the world. Steve received his MBA from the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), holds a BASc (Geological Engineering) from the University of Waterloo, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Carol Hansell
Partner, Hansell LLP

Carol Hansell is the founder and Senior Partner of Hansell LLP. Over her more than 25 years in practice, she has led major transactions for public and private corporations and governments. She now leads an independent firm dedicated to advising boards, management teams, institutional shareholders and regulators in connection with legal and governance challenges. She is regularly engaged in connection with special committee mandates, board investigations, governance design and reviews and shareholder engagements. She works with boards to improve their effectiveness through board evaluations, facilitated discussions, education sessions and coaching. Carol has served on boards of organizations across a variety of sectors – public companies, Crown corporations, healthcare, not-for-profit and arts organizations. She currently serves on the boards of Munich Reinsurance Company of Canada, the Global Risk Institute in Financial Services and the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). She has also served on the boards of the Bank of Canada, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, Toronto East General Hospital, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and SickKids Foundation, among others. She was inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) in 2013 and received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Investor Relations in 2015. Natalie Higgins
Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Intact Financial Corporation

Natalie Higgins is Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Communications at Intact Financial Corporation. Intact Financial Corporation is the largest provider of P&C insurance in Canada and distributes its insurance under the Intact Insurance brand through a wide network of brokers, including our wholly owned subsidiary Brokerlink, and directly to consumers through belairdirect. In her role, Natalie oversees the communications, public relations, government relations, corporate social responsibility and translation activities of Intact Financial Corporation (IFC).   Natalie joined Intact Insurance (formerly known as ING Insurance Company of Canada), a division of IFC, in 2004 where she held roles in Operations and Human Resources before assuming her current role. Denis Jasmin
Vice President, Investor Relations, SNC-Lavalin Group

Denis Jasmin is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years of experience in auditing, finance, and accounting, primarily in management positions. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal, and has been a Chartered Professional Accountant since 1991. Denis joined SNC-Lavalin in 2000 as Assistant Corporate Controller in the Finance Department. In this position, he was responsible for preparing the company’s annual and quarterly reports, revising financial analyses for acquisitions and investments, and for the financial aspects of strategic planning. Five of the six annual reports written under his direction have garnered awards. In June 2007, he was promoted to Vice-President, Investor Relations. In 2011, under Denis’ leadership, SNC-Lavalin Group received an honourable mention for the Grand Prix for Best Overall Investor Relations Mid-Cap at the annual IR Awards. Denis received an honourable mention for Best Investor Relations Officer Mid-Cap at the 2011 and 2012 annual IR Awards. Naizam Kanji
Director, Office of Mergers & Aquisitions, Ontario Securities Commission

Mr. Kanji is Director of the Office of Mergers & Acquisitions at the Ontario Securities Commission. The Office of Mergers & Acquisitions is responsible for compliance and policy-making in the areas of take-over bids, issuer bids, business combinations, shareholder rights and the securities regulatory aspects of proxy voting and proxy contests. Naizam obtained his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, in 1996 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998. In 2003, he graduated from the LL.M. (Securities Law) program at Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to joining the Ontario Securities Commission in 2000, he completed his articles as a law clerk to the judges of the Commercial List of the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario) and practised law as an associate with the Insolvency and Restructuring Group of McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto. Naizam has had primary responsibility for the mergers and acquisitions since 2006. Naizam has been a frequent speaker on mergers and acquisitions at conferences and law schools in Canada and the United States. He has also written papers on regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions law.

Sonia has over 15 years of experience in the investment industry and joined Stantec in 2008 where she is responsible for the development and implementation of the investor relations program. Sonia has experience in managing investor relations in Canada and the US as Stantec is dual-listed on the TSX and on the NYSE. In 2015, Stantec was shortlisted for four IR Magazine Awards, winning best IR by a CFO (mid-cap) and was ranked Number 7 on the Canada Top 50 list. Isabelle Laprise

Isabelle Laprise joined the Responsible Investment team at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (Caisse) in June 2014 as a Senior advisor. Before taking this position, Isabelle worked for 10 years as a financial analyst with the Caisse’s Equity Research Team, covering the entire gold sector. In her current role, she works with investment teams of various asset classes, guiding them through the integration of ESG factors in the investment decision. Created in 1965, the Caisse is one of the largest institutional fund managers in Canada and North America with net assets totalling 248 billion as of December, 31 2015. Isabelle holds a Bachelor degree in finance from Laval University and is a CFA ® charterholder. She is also the Caisse’s representative for the SVX initiative in Quebec.

Prior to that, Mr. Lepage worked in sales for one of the largest brewing companies in the world and with Deloitte in business development. Yvette Lokker

Yvette Lokker is currently President & CEO of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI). Yvette joined CIRI in 2008 as the Director of Communications and Professional Development and was promoted to Vice President in the fall of 2011. In addition to her many accomplishments, Yvette was responsible for establishing the first investor relations certification program in North America in partnership with the Richard Ivey School of Business. Prior to joining CIRI, Yvette was the Manager, Investor Relations at MDS Inc. where she assisted in developing and directing the investor relations strategies and activities for seven years. Yvette has a BSc. in Chemistry and a Business Diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University. Pat Marshall

Pat Marshall joined Cineplex Entertainment in May 2003 as Vice President Marketing and Communications.  In November 2003, she took on the added responsibility of Investor Relations.  In her current role she oversees all Corporate, Media and Employee Communications, Investor Relations and Corporate Giving.  Prior to joining Cineplex, Ms. Marshall was Vice President, IMAX Theatres for IMAX Corporation, where she was responsible for all of the company’s worldwide corporate theatre operations, marketing and communications. Before this she held management positions at Westin Hotels and Commonwealth Holiday Inns.  Ms. Marshall is a graduate of the Hotel and Restaurant Administration program from Red River College in Winnipeg. Ms. Marshall is a member of the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture Theatre Associations of Canada, a founding member of Access2Entertainment and a Cabinet Member for Sick Kids Hospital Leaders.  She is also the recipient of IR Magazine’s Best Investor Relations Officer award in 2007 and 2008 in the small to mid-cap category. In 2013, she was honoured to receive the CIRI Ontario Professional of the Year award and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award. 

John McCartney

Charles Nadim

Charles Nadim, CFA is Portfolio Manager and co-manages the firm’s Canadian Equity strategies. Anne Plasterer, CPIR is the Executive Director, Investor Relations at Newalta Corporation.  She was formerly with BFI Canada (now Progressive Waste Solutions) where she was in charge of investor and employee relations for the Toronto-based waste management company. Under her direction, BFI Canada was awarded IR Magazine’s Best Investment Community Meetings Award. Hannes Portmann

Chris Rankin, CFA

Managing Director, Event Driven Arbitrage, TD Securities

The early part of Chris' career focused on private equity and strategy consulting for a wide range of firms, ranging from the diversified Canadian conglomerate Imasco Limited down a Texas-based privately held multinational. Chris joined the sell side of the street back in the income trust heyday, where Chris rose to become the top ranked analyst on the street covering income trusts at another dealer. After the tax change, Chris turned his attention to merger arbitrage and built TD's merger arbitrage desk in to Canada's largest. In addition to merger arbitrage, Chris occasionally does capital markets advisory work for issuers. Chris has an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and is a CFA charterholder.

Oliver Schmalholz

Oliver Schmalholz is the co-founder and CEO of News Quantified. With over 15 years of experience in the global technology and finance industries, he has built four start-up companies, raising more than $50 million in venture capital. Schmalholz has both the vision to create revolutionary businesses and the skill to execute them successfully. Before working in FinTech, he co-founded European Telecom and was the first to sign an interconnection agreement with TelekomAustria after the industry de-regulated. This work was so sought-after that the firm was ultimately acquired by the fifth-largest publicly traded telecom in the world. He then managed a U.S. equities trading firm that grew its annual volume to $2 billion in just three years. While there, he designed a software solution that allowed for the low-latency, real-time processing of large volumes of information, along with no-delay order execution. Schmalholz’s keen understanding of how news directly impacts stock movement inspired him to launch News Quantified, which provides a service that seamlessly integrates headlines with the corresponding market data. The user base includes financial professionals, corporate officers and one of the two major stock exchanges.

Myron Stadnyk
President and Chief Executive Officer, ARC Resources Ltd.

Mr. Stadnyk is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ARC Resources Ltd. Prior to his appointment as CEO in January 2013, Myron held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer. Leading ARC’s operations team since 1997, he was promoted to COO in 2005 and COO and President in 2009. Myron has overseen the transition of ARC from a non-operating oil and gas entity in 1996 to one which operates over 90 percent of its production. During this time, under his leadership and guidance, ARC’s production has grown from 9,500 boe per day to over 112,000 boe per day. Managing all aspects of ARC’s oil and gas operations he has helped the company grow from a $200 million start-up into a $7 billion oil and gas company, employing over 600 people. Starting his career at Shell Canada, Myron spent 12 years in roles of progressively increasing responsibility in both domestic and international operations, including a project management role on an LNG project in Sarawak, Malaysia. Myron has sat on the CAPP Board of Governors since 2009, and is currently the Chair of the British Columbia Executive Policy Group. Myron is a board member of the University of Saskatchewan Engineering Advancement Trust, STARS Air Ambulance, and is active with various charitable organizations. Myron graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He was a participant in the 2004 Governor General Canadian Leadership Council and is a graduate of Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.

Ann Wilkinson

Prior to joining TMAC Resources Inc. she worked with a number of mining companies including GoldQuest Mining Corp, Orvana Minerals Corp., Colossus Minerals Inc, and Breakwater Resources Ltd. Ann joined Breakwater in January 1995 and served in several capacities.
