Rhylin Bailie, F.CIRI

Rhylin has been the VP Investor Relations of Equinox Gold since October 2016, bringing 27 years of mining industry experience and more than 16 years of investor relations experience to her role. From 2011 to October 2016, Rhylin managed all aspects of investor relations and communications for a number of resource companies. Previously Rhylin was Director of Investor Relations for NovaGold Resources from 2006 to 2011 where she managed both the investor relations program and sustainability reporting.

Prior to that she held various positions in the Treasury group at Placer Dome from 1995 to 2006. Rhylin is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree and was a director on the national board of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute from 2014-2022. In 2023 Rhylin was awarded the CIRI Fellowship designation, which recognizes investor relations leaders who bring distinction to the profession and serve as a role model for others.

 



Cindy Broad

Cindy has over 20 years of experience in Capital Markets, Strategic Marketing, Investor Relations and Public Relations. Most recently at Stockhouse, she headed up the marketing department, with a focus on business development opportunities, leading new marketing initiatives, developing new product offerings and producing numerous large events for the organization. She also has had the pleasure of interviewing many CEO’s and thought leaders in the capital market ecosystem. She brings her passion for connecting great people with great opportunities to BTV.

 



Kathy Butler

Kathy joined CIBC Capital Markets 28 years ago and has been involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions advisory mandates, as well as debt and equity financings for clients in sectors such as technology, telecom, consumer retail, industrial products, and forestry.

Kathy is on the Board of Governors and Vice-Chair of the Business Council of British Columbia and previously represented the technology industry on the BC Jobs and Investment Board. She is also on the boards of CIBC World Markets Inc., York House School, is a Partner of Social Venture Partners Vancouver, and sits on the Chairs’ Council of Science World.

Kathy holds an MBA (Honours) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (Honours) from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

 



Brenda Dayton

Brenda is the Vice President Corporate Communications of Japan Gold, with over 15 years of mining industry experience focussing on capital markets, investor relations and governance. Prior to joining the company, Brenda served in a variety of senior roles at GR Silver Mining, Golden Queen Mining and Ivanhoe Mines.

A graduate of the University of Calgary, Brenda has worked in the financial services industry before moving into the mining space. Brenda is a director of the CIRI Board - BC Chapter and serves as a mentor to a number of individuals beginning their investor relations career.

 



Ryan Fan
Managing Director & Vice-Chair

Ryan is Managing Director & Vice-Chair within CIBC Capital Markets’ Global Markets group. In this capacity, he supports strategic and focus clients in Western Canada and works closely with Corporate and Investment Banking partners
to grow the firm’s sustainable finance business. Ryan also leads CIBC’s sustainable finance initiatives within Global Markets. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Managing Director & Head of the Equity Solutions Group, based in Toronto.

Ryan began his career in investment banking with a national broker dealer, and subsequently joined CIBC Capital Markets where he worked as a proprietary equity and equity derivatives trader. In 2002, Ryan moved to a Canadian-based foreign investment bank as a cash equities trader, where he focused on both agency and liability trading in precious metals, financials, utilities and merger arbitrage.

Ryan earned his CFA designation in 2000 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Fan is Chair of CIBC’s Global Markets Campus Recruitment Program.

 



David Frost

David is a partner in our Vancouver office and Co-Chair of our National Life Sciences Group. He practises in the areas of corporate/commercial law, securities and corporate finance with a focus on financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. David specializes in the Life Sciences, Technology, Fintech, and Consumer Products and Retail industries.

David regularly advises private and public issuers and dealers on cross-border, U.S. and domestic public and private offerings of equity and debt, including initial public offerings, bought deal financings and secondary offerings. He also advises public companies on general securities law matters, including continuous disclosure obligations and other regulatory compliance issues. David regularly acts for Canadian, U.S. and international acquirers and targets on domestic and cross-border merger-and-acquisition transactions and take-over bids. He also advises Canadian and U.S. venture capital investors in connection with the structuring and implementation of domestic and cross-border investments.

David received a BA from the University of British Columbia in 1996 and his LLB, with distinction, from the University of Alberta in 2000. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 2001 and is a member of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, Securities Law Section, British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Investor Relations Institute and the Association of Corporate Growth.

 



Frank Gagnon

Frank serves as the Manager of Investor Relations at NOVAGOLD, where he oversees a wide spectrum of responsibilities encompassing investor relations, communication, outreach, and sustainability initiatives. In his role, he lends invaluable support to the executive team, particularly in the domains of investor relations and sustainability. Frank's industry experience extends beyond NOVAGOLD, as he has held several corporate development and investor relations positions within the mining sector, with notable companies such as Macdonald Mines Exploration and Conquest Resources Ltd.

Furthermore, he has a comprehensive understanding of the mining landscape from his tenure in corporate development at Norex Drilling, a prominent diamond drilling contractor predominantly active in Northern Ontario. Frank's journey into the mining industry followed a multifaceted financial career, including roles in corporate lending and debt financing for both Meridian and the Business Development Bank of Canada. Frank holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in finance from Laurentian University and is a certified Moody's Risk Analyst.

 



Carling Gaze
Vice President, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications

Carling joined Dakota Gold Corp. in May 2022, as the Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. She is an experienced mining capital markets professional, with an evolving career spanning over 15 years with exploration and intermediate mining companies. She has held a range of expanding roles and responsibilities, with an increased focus on investor relations and communications.

Prior to joining Dakota Gold, Carling served as the Senior Investor Relations and Communications Associate for Pretium Resources Inc, a high-grade gold company founded by Dr. Robert Quartermain in 2010 that attracted a $2.8 billion acquisition by Newcrest Mining in March 2022. Over her 8 years with Pretivm, she gained valuable experience as the company grew their Brucejack Project in Canada from exploration to one of the highest-grade operating gold mines globally, and continued in investor relations and communications for Newcrest Mining following the acquisition. Carling holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

 



Arne Gulstene

Arne has spent 16 years guiding C-Suite teams of listed issuers and their boards on public company management. He is the architect behind TMX Group's Growth Accelerator Program, an innovative program aimed at enhancing the performance of public companies through education and mentorship. He advises executives and boards on strategies encompassing Board Governance, ESG Strategy, Investor Relations, Disclosure, Corporate Development and Capital Markets.

In addition to a degree in Economics (Calgary), Arne holds a Master's in Business (Dalhousie), is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB), and holds the designation GPC.D from the Governance Professional of Canada and a graduate of the Innovation Governance Program, iGP. Arne is currently completing the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

 



Monica Hamm

Monica brings a diverse skill set to the table with over 20 years of experience in mining and capital markets. She began her career in the lab industry working for both environmental and mining labs as an analyst and later moved into project management and business development.

Beginning in 2005, Monica held the position of Investor Relations where she developed and led investor relations programs for several Vancouver-based mining companies. Since 2019, she has worked in Company Services with TMX Group as the Regional Advisor for companies listed on the TSX and TSXV. She is a Certified Sustainability Practitioner and holds a BSc in geology from Brandon University. Monica is dedicated to advancing the importance of ESG/Sustainability, and Indigenous Relations especially in the resource sector.

 



Mélanie Hennessey

Mélanie is NOVAGOLD's Vice President, Corporate Communications, responsible for all aspects of the Company's internal and external communications functions and investor relations activities. She has extensive experience within the precious metals mining industry particularly in investor relations, corporate communications, crisis management as well as mergers and acquisitions. She is a public speaker advocating for stakeholder engagement, the advancement of individuals aspiring to executive-level positions and women in leadership roles.

Prior to joining the Company, she served in a variety of executive and senior roles with such precious metals companies as Goldcorp Inc., New Gold Inc., and Hecla Mining Company. Mélanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Ottawa.

 



Connor Mackay

Connor is a mining equity research analyst with PI Financial, covering the base metals sector. Prior to joining PI, Connor worked as a consulting engineer in the mining industry working on all stages of the project development lifecycle including Exploration, NI 43-101 Technical Reporting, and Operations. Connor holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is registered as a Professional Engineer with Engineer and Geoscientists BC.

 



Chris Makuch

Chris is Notified’s Senior Director in Canada. A veteran executive with over 20 years of experience in corporate governance, shareholder identification, and shareholder engagement strategies, he started his career in proxy solicitation.

He has advised management teams, boards of directors and activist investors on M & A and proxy battle strategies while working on some of the biggest transactions in Canadian history. His focus is on helping public companies understand both their institutional and retail shareholder bases to ensure that they maximize their engagement strategies and drive shareholder value. Chris is a past member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) Ontario Chapter Board of Directors and a past member of the CIRI Issues Committee. He co-authored Unlocking Value at Canadian Pacific: The Proxy Battle with Pershing Square (Ivey Publishing 2017) and has been a frequent speaker and contributor on corporate governance, shareholder engagement, and proxy process voting issues.

He holds a BA from King’s University College at The University of Western Ontario and an MBA (Financial Services) from Dalhousie University.

 



Virgina (Ginny) Morgan

Ginny is a communications and investor relations professional, specializing in communicating corporate strategies and delivering key messages to a wide range of stakeholders, from Indigenous communities to Wall Street. Her professional experience of over 20 years includes roles in IR, ESG and Communications, most recently with Capstone Mining, Goldcorp and Avalon Rare Metals. Her work earned Capstone a nomination for Best Overall Investor Relations 2020 (Small Cap) by IR Magazine Canada, and while at Goldcorp, she contributed towards multiple CPA Canada Awards including Excellence in Corporate and Sustainability Reporting and Electronic Disclosure.

She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University, a Publicity & Public Relations Certificate from the University of Toronto and completed Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge.

 



Allison Pettit

Allison is a mining and communications professional with over 10 years of experience, specializing in investor relations, marketing and sales for public companies. In 2018, she joined NOVAGOLD Resources, a NYSE American and TSX-listed gold development company, in the role of Manager of Investor Relations and Communications.

Allison is a CIRI member and Executive Director of the CIRI BC Chapter. Outside of her professional life, Allison can be found surrounded by her five-year old daughter Sawyer and her three-year old twins, Rex and Palmer. .

 



Prabhdeep Sagoo

Prab is the head of Nasdaq's Canadian market and shareholder intelligence services; he has over 15 years of experience in investors relations and currently oversees Nasdaq's investor relations presence in their Toronto office. His experience entails work with European large caps out of their London office, large cap U.S. financials out of Nasdaq's New York global headquarters and now works out of their Canadian headquarters.

Prab's work focuses on helping investor relations professionals best understand the scope of their shareholder priorities, strategic initiatives and an accurate picture of their place in the capital markets.

 



Nicholas Van Dyk

Nicholas is a public company executive with over 16 years of experience in corporate development, finance, and investor relations with a focus on the mining industry. He has advised a range of public and private companies on strategic corporate matters, including internal and external growth projects as well as M&A transactions, equity, and debt financings totalling more than $35 billion. Nicholas currently owns a consulting practice, where he advises public and private companies on corporate development and capital markets issues.

Previously, he was Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Development at Polaris Materials Corporation prior to its acquisition by a major US construction materials company in 2017. As a member of the executive leadership team at Polaris, he led the successful investor relations function and created significant value for shareholders as a key contributor to corporate strategy, business development, finance, community relations and other matters. Nicholas joined Northisle in November 2020.
