Issues of Interest

The Issues Committee is dedicated to staying on top of issues that impact IR. They assess which issues are most relevant to IROs on an annual basis.

For 2011, the Issues Committee will focus on the following:

  • Share ownership disclosure
  • Delayed access to SEDAR filings
  • Shareholder democracy (say-on-pay; majority voting; individual voting for directors)
  • Quality of the proxy voting process (including notice-and-access; OBO/NOBO system)
  • Alternative trading systems (e.g. dark pools; high frequency trading)
  • Social media in IR
  • Integrated reporting
  • Changes to short-selling rules

The Issues Committee stays abreast of the top issues that impact investor relations professionals.
