CIRI 25th Annual Investor Relations Conference, June 10-12

This year, for the first time, CIRI’s Annual Conference will be held in Montreal from June 10-12. It follows closely on the checkered flag of the Montreal Grand Prix and as such we invite you to come “Accelerate Your Investor Relations Strategy”. To mark the occasion, we have invited a host of experts representing financial leaders, dynamic start-ups and established large cap multinationals from both Quebec and the rest of Canada to take part in the sessions.

With the ever-changing global environment, CIRI and its Annual Conference have never been more valuable to IROs than it is today. Over the past few years, we have seen the global economic and political landscape shift dramatically. Several economies in Europe that once had tremendous investor confidence are now undertaking severe austerity programs, having been downgraded by rating agencies. Meanwhile, countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa have been subject to sudden popular uprisings that continue to transform the regions.

With so much turbulence and speculation in the market, the role of the IRO becomes all the more crucial. We must continue to ensure that shareholders and investors alike, have access to the most transparent and timely information about our companies at all times, and we must ensure that we are using all the tools at our disposal to do our job in the most efficient manner. The CIRI Annual Conference provides us with the knowledge, tools and network to excel as an IRO.

This year you will hear from individuals with experience in hostile takeovers, crisis communication, social media, IR plan development, international marketing and high-frequency trading, to name a few. We have keynote economic speaker Carlos Leitao, Chief Economist, Laurentien Bank Securities and seasoned investor Stephen Jarislowsky of Jarislowsky, Fraser Limited. Each will provide insight from their own experiences to help you navigate through what we expect to be more turbulence in 2012.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! We hope you will join us in La Belle Province, at what promises to be one of the most important and dynamic CIRI conferences yet. While turbulence may now be the new norm, we can continue to sharpen our skills to be ready for whatever comes our way.
