CIRI 24th Annual Investor Relations Conference, June 5-7
Strategize. Innovate. LEAD.
Defining IR and Developing Next Practices
In the throes of the economic crisis it was essential for IROs to
have a keen focus on the careful navigation of mercurial financial
markets, clearly communicating their companies’ opportunities and risks
to jittery investors – all while keeping an eye on new reforms in
regulatory policies and fast-evolving advances in social media.
Adhering to best practices was a logical but ambitious goal, as many
companies asked employees to do more with less.
The markets have since rebounded, and there appears to be a fresh (if
tentative) optimism in the capital markets. Companies are raising money
again, IPOs are popping up, and CIRI’s job site is rejuvenated with
many exciting new opportunities for IR professionals. As the crisis
appears to have abated, it’s time to take a step back and evaluate our
investor relations programs. Does the strategy still make sense, or is
there room for improvement? What innovations exist to establish not
just best, but NEXT practices, and in doing so establish ourselves as
leaders in our chosen field?
The 2011 CIRI Annual Conference Committee has created a program designed
to provide the tools for IROs to answer these important questions.
Senior business leaders, subject matter experts and experienced IROs
will share their thoughts and experiences in an interactive format
designed to foster spirited dialogue. Participants will leave the
conference with new ideas and concrete examples to implement back at the
office.
Keeping with the spirit of innovation, the full conference program and
updates will be available on your BlackBerry. Consistent with leading
environmental practices, electronic presentations will be available on a
USB key and online following the conference, including audio archives
for those presentations that you might have missed.
The 2011 Exhibitor Showcase will provide an opportunity to meet with
representatives for IR products and services designed to help you keep
at the forefront of innovation, and support you in a leading-edge IR
program.
We hope you will join us in scenic Lake Louise this June to network with
investor relations professionals from across Canada and learn ‘next
practices’ to help you “Strategize. Innovate. LEAD.”
