Annual Conference Optional Activities
Are you interested in discovering all that Kelowna has to offer while at the
2017 Annual Conference? Or, looking to network with colleagues in a
casual and fun environment? CIRI has organized the following activities
you and your companions to take part in to expand your 2017 Annual
Conference experience. All optional events take place on Sunday morning.
Importance Notice: This year's activities require a minimum number of particpants in order to operate. If the minumums are not met by Thursday, May 25, the activity will be cancelled. Be sure to sign up early!

East Bench Wine & Cheese Tour
Come and explore the beautiful vineyards and farmland of Kelowna on this half-day tour. You will enjoy visits to Tantalus Vineyards and Summerhill Winery as well as Carmelis Goat Cheese Farm. Tantalus Vineyards is Kelowna’s oldest continuously producing vineyard and Summerhill Winery is a Kelowna staple that cannot be missed. After a few wine tastings, what would be more perfect than a tasting at Carmelis Goat Cheese Farm! The fee of $107 (plus tax) includes round-trip transportation, three tours and all samples. This activity takes place from approximately 9:30am - 1:30pm.
Kettle Valley Bike Tour
The Kettle Valley Railroad, opened in 1915, was a subsidiary of the Canadian Pacific Railway that operated in the Thompson-Okanagan region BC. Once the railway closed in 1989, it was converted into a recreational trail, known as the Kettle Valley Rail Train. On this tour, you will begin at the Myra Canyon Trailhead and cycle approximately 20km of flat trail, viewing all 18 trestles and two tunnels. This guided tour also provides a historical interpretation of the area. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photos – so be sure you bring your camera! The fee of $145 (plus tax) includes round-trip transportation to the trailhead, your bike, water and snacks for during the tour. This activity takes place from approximately 9:30am - 1:30pm.
Private Fishing Charter
From a 22’ custom-welded Thunderjet boat, guests will be trolling for Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout and Kokanee on this fun and exhilarating half-day excursion. The style of fishing is primarily trolling and using plugs as well as a variety of lures and baits. This is a comfortable, relaxing style of fishing… until the rod goes off screaming! The fee of $165 (plus tax) includes all fishing gear and tackle, your guide and fishing license. This activity takes place from approximately 9:30am - 1:30pm.
21st Annual CIRI Golf Tournament
Enjoy a morning on the links at one of Kelowna’s championship-length golf courses: The Harvest Golf Club. This renowned course, carved through 165 acres of apple orchards, creates an exceptional golf experience in utter harmony with the natural surroundings that offer stunning views of Lake Okanagan and the City of Kelowna. Fees of $182 (plus tax) will include round-trip transportation, green fees, golf carts and boxed lunch. This activity takes place from approximately
6:45am - 2:00pm. More details will be provided closer to the date. Note: Golf clubs can be rented from the Harvest Golf Club directly
for an additional fee of $50 plus tax.
All activity cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received after May 25, 2017 are non-refundable.
