Issues Committee

Committee Mandate

The Committee will support the priorities of CIRI’s business plan by informing members of the issues, explaining their impact on IROs and developing a formal CIRI position if one is warranted. These issues will be considered in a broad context to ensure that CIRI’s position upholds the transparency and integrity of the capital markets.

When there is an opportunity to comment on proposed regulatory changes, the Committee will evaluate the relevance and potential impact of such proposed changes and prepare the necessary comments for submission. 

If the issue is important enough to the IR profession, the Issues Committee will alert the CIRI Board who will determine whether CIRI will proactively advocate on behalf of the membership. If beneficial, CIRI will seek alliances with other associations in support of its cause.
